Terms and Conditions for Participating in the Suunto Dream Adventure giveaway
Join the Suunto Dream Adventure giveaway, submit your application between 15th April 2025 and 4th May 2025 and get a chance to win a spot in our Dream Adventure camp in Finnish Lapland in July 2025.
1. General Terms
By participating in the Suunto Dream Adventure give-away (“Promotion”) you accept these Terms. Please read these Terms carefully before participating. If you do not agree to the Terms, you may not participate in the Promotion.
These Terms govern the relationship between you (“you” or the “Participant”) and Suunto Oy, Finnish organization number 0101084-1, Tammiston kauppatie 7 A, 01510 Vantaa, Finland, tel. +358 9 875 870 ("Organizer") in relation to the Promotion. Questions and feedback about the Promotion may be brought to the attention of Organizer through the aforementioned contact details.
The Promotion begins on 15th April 2025 at 11.00 EET and ends on 4th May 2025 at 23.59 EET. Only entries received within the Promotion Period will be taken into account.
2. Right to Participate
The Promotion is open to individuals who are legal residents of any country where such promotions are legally permitted [MN2] [FL3] (“Territory”), who are at least 18 years old or over the age of majority in their jurisdiction of permanent residence, whichever is greater on the start date of the Promotion Period. However, and despite the aforesaid, in the event the legislation of your home country does not allow this kind of Promotion, you are not allowed to participate. This Promotion is void where prohibited.
The Organizer may require winners to certify their eligibility to participate in the Promotion.
Employees, representatives and agents of the Organizer or those of any of its affiliates, as well as the immediate family (defined as parents, siblings, children and spouses, regardless of where they live) or households (whether or not related) of such employees, representatives and agents and anyone otherwise connected with the operation or fulfillment of the Promotion, are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
The winner will require valid travel documents, including passports and visas where applicable. Health and travel insurance are the responsibility of the winner.
In order to be eligible to participate in the promotion and to receive the prize, the participant must fully comply with these general terms and conditions, and by accepting the prize the participant agrees to be bound by these general terms and conditions and the decisions of Suunto Oy, whose decisions shall be binding and final in all respects.
By completing the application form and tagging your content with tag @suunto and hashtag #SuuntoDreamAdventure on Instagram and/or TikTok, you grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, and publicly display such content across all media and marketing channels, including but not limited to social media, websites, advertisements, press releases, and printed materials. By participating in the Promotion, you waive any claims for compensation, approval rights, or ownership over how the Organizer uses your submitted content.
If you not consent to the use of your content as described above, you must not participate in the Promotion. The Organizer reserves the right to use any submitted content indefinitely, even if you later delete your original post or withdraw from the Promotion.
Any illegible entries will be held void and Organizer reserves the right to verify the eligibility of winners.
3. Instructions for Participation
To participate in the Promotion, you must complete first the application form in Suunto.com (URL here) and then tell us in a max. 60 second video you post on either Instagram or TikTok your answer to the questions “What does adventure mean to you? Where does adventure start for you?”. Ensure that your Instagram or TikTok account is set to public so we can see the video and don’t forget to tag @suunto and use the hashtag “#SuuntoDreamAdventure. Each person may participate in the Promotion only once. Entry to the participation is free; no costs necessary for entry.
Incomplete, corrupted, or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified. Additionally, any illegible or fraudulent entries will be rejected. If you enter or attempt to enter the Promotion in violation of these Terms or in a manner that is otherwise unfair to other participants, you may be rejected from the Promotion at the Organizer's sole discretion.
No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed, damaged, corrupted, illegible or incomplete entry forms, which shall be disqualified at the discretion of the Organizer, or for transmission or computer error affecting the logging of entry forms. Proof of joining will not be accepted as proof of delivery.
4. Selection of Winner
The winners of the Promotion will be determined on 8th of May at 1 PM CET at Suunto Oy, Tammiston kauppatie 7 A, 01510 Vantaa, Finland.
The winners of the Promotion will be selected based on the quality and skill in creating the submission and alignment with Suunto’s values[FL6] (https://www.suunto.com/About-Suunto/heritage/).
The odds of winning any prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the entry period.
The winners will be notified no later than on 12th May directly by the Organizer by e-mail message.
If a winner cannot be reached within seven (7) business days as of the date on which the Organizer first attempted to reach the winner, or if the Organizer has reasonable grounds for believing that an entrant has contravened any of these Terms, the initial winner will be considered to have forfeited their right to the prize and the Organizer is entitled to select another winner. The Organizer’s decision(s) are final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
5. Prizes
The total number of prizes awarded in the Promotion are six (6) spots for the Suunto Dream Adventure camp. The prize is a three-day adventure trip to Finnish Lapland, covering the flights (round trip flights in economy class tickets to/from Finnish Lapland), logistics, accomodation, meals and activities[FL8] . The retail value of one prize is EUR €4,000 per winner. The prize is subject to any and all applicable terms and conditions of Suunto Oy. Any depictions of prizes are for illustrative purposes only.
The Prize is personal, non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available.To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes relating to your receipt and/or use of the prize, if applicable. The Organizer will notify tax authorities if required by applicable law. However, the Organizer will not be responsible for paying any taxes on behalf of the winner. The winner is solely responsible for paying any applicable taxes related to the prize.
Unless otherwise provided under applicable mandatory law or expressly stated in writing in connection with the distribution of the prize, the prize is awarded on an "as is" basis and the Organizer, nor any of its affiliates, makes any representations or warranties of any nature with respect to the prize.
6. Liability
Suunto Oy and its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors shall not have any obligation or responsibility including any responsbility to award the prize to a recipient, with regard to if a prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellation, delays or interruptions due to Acts of God, natural disasters, terrorism, pandemic, weather or any similar even beyond Suunto’s reasonable control; or any damage, injuries or losses of any kind caused by the making of the video, the prize or resulting from awarding, acceptance, possession, use, misuse, loss or misdirection of any prize or resulting from participating in this Promotion or any promotion or prize related activities.
The recipient, by claiming and/or accepting the prize, agrees to release and hold harmless Suunto Oy and its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including, without limitation, property damage, personal injury (including emotional distress), illness, health issue, and/or death which may occur in connection with preparation for, or participation in, the Promotion, or possession, acceptance and/ or use or misuse of the prize or participation in any promotion-related activity and for any claims or causes of action based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. Insofar as is permitted by the law, Suunto Oy (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage otherwise arising out of or in connection, directly or indirectly with the Promotion.
Suunto Oy and its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors assume no responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to winner’s personal belongings carried to and from or bought during the trip. The winner assumes any and all risks associated with the participation and redemption of the prize.
It is the sole responsibility of the winner to obtain appropriate health and travel insurance. The Organizer will not be liable for any costs or consequences arising from the winner's failure to secure such insurance.
Applicable to all Territory other than Germany
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or in any way limit the Organizer’s liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by the Organizer’s negligence or any other liability to the extent the same may not be excluded or limited as a matter of law. Some jurisdictions may not permit limitations of certain rights, claims, implied warranties or types of damages. Some of the following limitations may, therefore, not apply to you.
Subject to previous section, the following shall apply. To the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law, by participating in the Promotion, you agree to release the Organizer and its affiliates from any and all liability arising in any manner out of the Promotion including, without limitation, the selection of the winner, the administration of the Promotion, and the acceptance or the use of the prize or any component thereof as well as to indemnify and hold the Organizer and its affiliates harmless from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs or expenses arising from, or attributable to, any of your acts or omissions relating to the Promotion. Except in the event of gross negligence or willful misconduct, the Organizer's and/or its affiliates' liability will in any case be limited to the value of the prize to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law.
Applicable to Germany
Organizer or its affiliates are liable for claims for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health or from the violation of essential contractual obligations as well as liability for other damages arising from an intentional, fraudulent or grossly negligent breach of duty of Organizer or its affiliates. In other cases in which damages result of slight negligence, the Organizer's and/or its affiliates' liability will be limited to the value of the prize to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law. In all other cases, the Organizer's liability is excluded.
The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, and/or administered by, or associated with Instagram or TikTok. You hereby agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Instagram and/or TikTok from any liability in connection with the Promotion.
7. Dispute Resolution
Applicable to all Territory other than the Netherlands
To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, these Terms shall be governed by the laws of Finland.
If a dispute, conflict or controversy arising out of, or in connection with this Promotion, cannot be resolved through negotiation between the parties, the consumer can submit the matter for resolution to a dispute resolution body, e.g. to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi) or to a competent national dispute resolution body. Ultimately, any dispute shall be brought before the District Court of Helsinki, Finland for resolution, unless prohibited under applicable mandatory law.
Applicable to the Netherlands
Complaints about the Promotion may be brought to the attention of Organizer through the following email address: community@suunto.com. If a complaint is not resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant, the complainant may submit his or her complaint in writing to: De kansspelautoriteit, Postbus 298, 2501 CG Den Haag.
8. Personal Data
To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, by participating in the Promotion, you agree that any personal data submitted in connection with the Promotion is registered and processed in accordance with the Organizer's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.suunto.com/Privacy-Policy/
To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, by participating the Promotion, you acknowledge and agree that photos, videos and any other content may be captured during the trip. These materials may include, but are not limited to, images, recordings, testimonials, and social media content featuring entrants. The Organizer reserves the right to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and publicly display such materials for promotional, advertising, and marketing purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, press releases, and other marketing channels, without further notice or compensation. By participating in the Promotion, you grant the Organizer and its partners a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your name, image, likeness, voice, and any statements made during the trip in connection with marketing and promotional activities.
If you not consent to the capture and use of your images or other content as described above, you must not participate in the Promotion. The Organizer will not be responsible for the removal of any content already published or distributed before a withdrawal request.
Applicable to France
The data controller is the Organizer. The personal data will be used to (a) verify the eligibility of the potential winner; and (b) contact the potential winner and allocate the prize. Entrants have a right of access to modification and withdrawal of their personal data and they have the right to set the consequences of their death on their personal data. They may also have the right of opposition to the data collection, under certain circumstances. The duration of the retention of the data is done under applicable mandatory law. The recipient of the data is the Organizer.
