Suunto launches new, robust variants of the watch-sized dive computer D6i Novo. The refined Suunto D6i Novo Zulu has all the great features of D6i Novo, with the addition of an extremely durable army-style textile Zulu strap available in three colors: black, stealth and blue. The blue option is available for dive instructors and dive masters only.
Durable and solid textile strap with secure closing system
The Zulu strap is based upon the popular NATO strap, originally designed for military use and built to last in hardest conditions. With its secure closing system, Zulu straps are a strong favorite of divers all over the globe.
"We wanted to address the requests from spear fishers, free divers and dive instructors," says Timo Halko, D6i Novo's lead designer from the Suunto design team. "The textile material comes from Finland, and the design is done especially for those people who demand the most from their gear."
The double sling under the watch together with adapters and thick, rounded stainless steel rings ensure that the watch stays on the wrist even if something unexpected happened during the dive. The Zulu strap is easy to adjust for wearing over a wetsuit and is comfortable and stylish for daily use. The textile strap is made in Finland, as are all the Suunto dive computers.
"Combining a durable Zulu strap with the D6i Novo sapphire crystal glass and all steel casing gives this watch a very robust look and feel also outside diving," adds Halko, who has been the lead designer for the entire Suunto D6i Novo range.
Serious dive features in a rugged steel case
A dive computer known by professional divers for its reliability, Suunto D6i Novo comes with practical tools for diving, like a tilt-compensated digital compass, wireless air integration and five dive modes (air, nitrox, gauge, free and off). All Suunto D6i Novo watches feature a tough steel case and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, with a protective coating that shields against dirt and grease.
In addition to the new Novo models, Suunto D6i Steel and Suunto D6i All Black Steel remain available. The D6i dive computers are easy to sync with Suunto DM5 software so you can share your dive logs, images and videos with the rest of the world.
All Suunto dive computers are designed, made and tested in Vantaa, Finland.
